Stabilising Young Lives is one of our four priority audiences. This refers to people between the ages of 13-25 who are at risk of exploitation. Being active or involved in a sport setting for this audience can result in elements of stability and can positively influence their direction in life.

We work in partnership with various supporting organisations, who offer services to these young people. We aim to bridge the gap between these organisations and physical activity. Many organisations now see physical activity as a huge part of their service to support these young people.

We also work with the current sports sector to help them adapt and broaden their current offer to meet the needs of these groups. Many sports organisations have developed programmes or have made adaptations to be able to change the lives of vulnerable groups across the County

The young people we work with could be at risk of offending, have poor mental health, be socially isolated, have been abused, be in addiction recovery or find themselves in any number of other vulnerable situations.

We can demonstrate that being physically active supports these young people to:

  • reduce low mood and anxiety
  • increase future aspirations
  • increase confidence
  • improve relationships
  • improve desire to support others
  • improve communication and teamwork.

Are you from a club and would like support on developing your offer to reach this audience?

Are you part of an organisation working with these young people and would like support offering activity to them?
